We are currently seeking a Manager, Benefits Canada & US to join our team in Vancouver. 

This position reports to the Director HR, Corporate Services North America and is responsible for planning, developing and managing benefits programs in Canada and the US.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Providing the overall employee benefits strategy and overseeing policies and procedures;
  • Managing all employee benefit and retirement programs including self-funded and fully insured health benefits, life, STD, LTD, HSA, RRSP, 401(k), and ancillary benefits;
  • Overseeing implementation of benefits harmonization project for US;

  • Ensuring legal compliance and timely reporting pertaining to employee benefit and retirement plans such as 5500s, ACA, COBRA, HIPPA, 401k non-discrimination testing and audits;

  • Leading annual renewal for Canada and US including plan changes, costing strategy, and communication;

  • Managing key stakeholder relationships;

  • Oversee month-end and year-end reconciliations and reporting;

  • Reviewing processes and policies for best practice;

  • Developing and managing internal and external communication;

  • Managing development of Benefits Sharepoint site and wellness newsletter;

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Skills and experience:

  • 4-6 years of progressive benefits experience (US experience is an asset);

  • Related post-secondary education;

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (with advanced Excel skills);

  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet tight deadlines;

  • M&A experience is an asset
