Impark is currently looking for a FULL TIME CLAIMS ADJUDICATOR to work at our VANCOUVER location.
 

We are seeking one individual to fill an entry level position as Claims Adjudicators for our Risk Management Department in Vancouver.  In this role you will be responsible to ensure Impark customer vehicle damage claims are processed quickly, efficiently, fairly, and cost effectively.  Reporting to the Director of Risk Management, you must liaison with customers and Impark branch offices to evaluate and settle vehicle damage claims including issuing denial letters when warranted.  Knowledge of automobiles and vehicle damage repair estimates is required. Training is provided.  This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze initial claim report to confirm cause of loss and to determine if claim is to be paid or denied.If denied, send formal denial letter to customer.
  • Review repair scope/estimate and pictures of vehicle damage to determine if acceptable or if further estimates or a damage appraiser is required.
  • Deliver superior customer service and satisfaction by initiating prompt contact, setting expectations, and effectively utilizing all available technology.
  • Interacts with customers, Impark branch offices, third parties and their insurance companies, and auto appraisers when required.
  • Conduct investigations of all aspects of reported claims including potential fraud.
  • Secure all appropriate supporting documentation and verify same for accuracy and completeness.
  • Establish accurate and timely reserve estimates.
  • Monitor each claim file to achieve timely development of the file and timely disposition of the claim through to settlement and conclusion.
  • Exercise good judgment in reaching final disposition of claim by evaluating nature of loss, liability, injury/damage.
  • Effectively negotiate compromise settlements where appropriate.
  • Recognize and pursue subrogation where applicable.
  • Effectively control the use, work product and expenses of outside vendors/auto appraisers.
  • Actively participate in committees and task force projects related to department and/or branch business issues and quality initiatives.
  • Contributes to the development and delivery of team results, objectives and goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have knowledge of automobile construction, parts, accessories, and how they function together.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • An aptitude for evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting vehicle damage repair estimates and other claim information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to work well in a team atmosphere.
  • Innovative thinker with ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of law and legal requirements is an asset.

Education and Experience

  • Personal experience in a claims environment is an asset.
  • Personal experience with automotive claims is preferred.
  • Some personal experience with automotive repairs is required.
