We are currently looking for an entry level Maintenance Field Technician to join our team in Vancouver. Reporting to the Maintenance Services Manager, the Maintenance Field Technician will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance, sign installation and basic repairs.

Hourly rate: $16.00

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance work including:
    • Sign installations

    • Concrete work

    • Installation of dig-in galvanized poles

    • Basic repairs and handyman work

    • Installation and/or repair of parking gate arms

    • Changing of fluorescent light tubes and spot lamps

    • Installation of parking curbs, delineators, bollards, etc.

    • Cleaning/Sweeping off broken glass and litter pick-up

    • Landscaping

  • Operation of the following tools/machinery:
    • Power tools

    • Hammer drill/driver

    • Angle grinder

    • Jack hammer  

  • Ensure that all safety standards are maintained
  • Heavy lifting involved (up to 50 lb)
  • Able to climb ladder and no issues on heights
  • Able to work independently
  • Adhering to Personal Appearance Policy at all times (grooming, uniform, etc.)
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience with maintenance work and power tools.
  • Experience in construction is an asset.
  • Welding experience is an asset, but not necessary.
  • Willingness to perform duties in a variety of climates or working condition.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license, with good driving track record & with a general knowledge of Metro Vancouver area.
  • Ability to work well both with minimal supervision and as a team.
