The human resources scheduling position offering excellent advancement potential is currently available in our Vancouver office for an outgoing and enthusiastic career-minded individual with an entrepreneurial flair.  This is a hands-on role supporting our interactive fast paced operations team.  As the HR Coordinator, you’ll be responsible to provide human resources support to all front line employees.

These duties include:

  • Producing employees’ monthly schedules.
  • Producing monthly event schedules.
  • Monitoring vacation time booked vs. entitlements.
  • Coordinating training to be provided to attendants.
  • Issuing floats, ID badges, deposit keys, uniforms.
  • Posting job vacancies within the guide lines of the Collective Agreement.
  • Advertising for various positions (e.g. cashier, valet).
  • Interviewing and hiring and orientation for all new hires.
  • Responding to and resolving all Employee inquiries.
  • Liaising with the Union Business Representative regarding any union issues.
  • Preparing letters as required under the “Progressive Discipline” program in a unionized environment.
  • Attending Grievance meetings as required.
  • Maintaining unionized employees personnel files (discipline, correspondence, grievances etc.)
  • Liaising with other departments (Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits) on various attendant issues.
  • Reconciling monthly cashier float records.
  • Maintaining customized scheduling database.
  • Other duties as assigned and may be required to work after hours.

Skills and experience required for this position include:

2+ years’ of administration or supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment in the retail or hospitality industry;

  • Appropriate post-secondary education such as a degree/diploma in Business Administration, Management or Hospitality; working towards a CHRP designation is an asset
  • Exceptional organizational skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong PC skills with Microsoft based applications.
